Though the fig tree should not blossom
And there be no fruit on the vines,
Though the yield of the olive should fail
And the fields produce no food,
Though the flock should be cut off from the fold
And there be no cattle in the stalls,
Though the yield of the olive should fail
And the fields produce no food,
Though the flock should be cut off from the fold
And there be no cattle in the stalls,
Yet I will exult in the LORD,
I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.
The Lord GOD is my strength,
And He has made my feet like hinds' feet,
And makes me walk on my high places.
Habakkuk 3:17-19
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
Ephesians 6:10-13
Ephesians 6:10-13
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Matt 11:28-30
Matt 11:28-30
When I got home today in the afternoon a friend from church, Mama Vicki came by to visit with her daughter and bring me some oranges, mangoes and mchicha (greens) from their shamba (farm). Anj had a good time playing with her friend Vicki and I had a lovely time visiting with Mama Vicki. She was a great encouragement to me. Then as she was leaving another lady, Mrs Ikanda stopped by and insisted on making me some Uji (like porridge) for me to drink so i could gain my strength back. (haven't felt like eating a thing). She's like a Mama to me. I praise God for showing me his love through these ladies. Now I am at home and relaxing on the couch with another single gal from our church. She's going to stay the night with Anjela and I to be sure we are ok. So sweet! Thanks Marci.
On another note, Dennis called tonight to say he arrived in Detroit safely and should be arriving in Dallas in the next several hours. Safe Travels Babe! I love you. All those in Denton please take care of him for me. -----Allison

Dear Allison,
Wow. I am so encouraged by your faith and perseverance. I am having a different struggle right now (grieving for my Grandma who went to be with Jesus on monday). But the whole time I have been keeping up with your blog and seeing your faith as you suffer and reading the scriptures you are praying and meditating on has been so helpful for me! So, thanks for sharing your burden with us. I am praying for you, my sister!
