Adoption Hearing Update

Dear Prayer Warriors,
Thank you for your prayers for us today. I know many of you have been waiting to hear about Anjela's adoption court hearing outcome today. Well first we have to say we praise God we don't have bad news, just MORE WAITING! Here's a little summary of how the day went....

We left home around 6am, crossed the ferry, showed up at the lawyers office in town at 7:30am and were in the courts by 8am. Within an hour or so we were told our case was the last case of the day and we had to come back at 2:30pm. We live too far away to go home so we spent the next 5 hours or so in the heat running some errands, having lunch and making a quick visit to see some relatives. When we arrived back at the court in the afternoon everyone was waiting at the Judges chambers. When it was our turn to go in we entered and the judge quickly got down to business asking us several questions and even did her own examination of Anjela. It was pretty apparent that our case was new to her and that she had not yet read our file. After a total of about 10 or 15 minutes in the chamber with the judge she told us that she heard our case and would wait to make her ruling on the 30th of April. So yet again we wait, just as we have done for the last 2 years....

So you may ask?
Is this what we wanted to hear today? no of course not, we were praying Anjela would be declared ours today. Has it been frustrating and discouraging and are we a bit sad? Yes of course

BUT will we let this steal our joy, hope, or trust in the Lord? NO we can't! We will choose to believe the Truth and not the lies of the enemy who seeks to discourage and bring us down. We KNOW God is good all the time! He is faithful and has a perfect plan for us and for our little Anjela. He brought her to us and He is in control. We just have to be patient and wait on Him. And we have to be thankful...so thankful that the judge even heard our case today and has given us a date for her ruling!!

May the Lord continue to give us the grace to trust Him more and more patiently waiting upon Him! Thank you for your continued prayers and for the flood of emails, and even text messages of encouragement you have sent our way. God has heard, is hearing, and will continue to hear and answer the prayers of His people.

"But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10

Thank you so much for persevering and loving on us through this journey. We serve a faithful God!

Love,
Dennis, Allison, and Anjela
