Safely in North Carolina

Not much time to write all about our adventure but we made it safely to North Carolina this past Sunday morning. We left Denton, TX late on Thursday due to snowy weather and icy roads, but we got ahead of the weather and made it to Memphis by Thursday night. We stayed in Memphis on Friday to visit some friends and the snowy weather caught up with us again and dumped 4 inches of snow in Tennessee. This beautiful weather but icy roads caused us to be delayed until about 4pm on Saturday when we just got on the road and drove til midnight, stayed at a roadside Inn and then got back on the road Sunday morning. We finally arrived at Allison's dad's house in Hickory on Sunday around noon. It was a long but very adventurous journey...and in the midst of it, Dennis go to experience his first ever real college basketball game where Memphis defeated Alabama. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Williams for taking us to the game with you. ---Allison
Here's a few pictures:
Here's the mess we drove in on our way out of Denton, TX
Denton Bible Church in the snow on our way out

Allison and Joyce int the snow

I decided to try to make snow cream like my Mama used to make. I added a little too much vanilla but it was still ok.

Just a beautiful statute of Jesus and children in the snow. I love it.

GO MEMPHIS!! We had a lot of fun with Jimmy and Francis at the Memphis/Alabama game. It was Dennis' first time to attend a college basketball game. Now he knows what we are talking about when we talk about college basketball and the crazy fans.
We were really close to the court. So fun!

When we arrived in N.C. we were surprised to see Allison's brother and sister and their families there to greet us. Its the first time we've all been together in a long time. This picture is (Left to right) David (bro in law), sister Karen, brother Kevin, Elisha (sis in law), Dad, Allison, Dennis, and on the front there is Carter (sis' son), Allen (bro's son), and Shelby (sis' daughter)

Also, we have our tickets now for returning to Kenya. We will be leaving from Charlotte, N.C. airport on April 1st!!
