Sad Mama
I had to take Anjela to the immunization clinic last week to get her measles shot. And all i have to say is that its a good thing I'm a nurse and have the experience of giving many injections to many babies or this new Mama would have really cried her eyes out. And here in Kenya injections just aren't given the same way. They give babies their shots in the arm and not in their thighs like we do in the States. I don't like the way they do many things here in the hospitals but the more we visit the doctor here the more God is humbling me and teaching me to trust in HIM! Our health and ultimately our lives truely are in HIS hands. Anjela screamed for only a couple minutes but it still broke my heart as she looked up at me with her big teary eyes that appeared as if she was saying, "Mama, why did you let them hurt me?" And there's no way to explain to her that its for her good, its to protect her from sickness. As I held her in my arms I was reminded that often times we are the same way with God. During our pain and suffering we look to God with big teary eyes and ask why? Why did you let this happen to me?...Its hard for us to understand that the pain could ultimately be for our good.

Great reminder, thanks :)
I remember those days with Trevor and Mackenzie! As parents, ecspecially moms, we don't want our kids to hurt!
