Merry Belated Christmas and Happy 2010

Merry Belated Christmas and Happy New Year from the Omondis!!

We are sorry this holiday greeting is so late but the sick-bug has been roaming through the Omondi household in the last week. It all started when Anjela suddenly spiked a very high fever last Monday during her nap and had a febrile seizure. It was quite scary for us but we are thankful the hospital is close by and we were able to get her cooled down and treated quickly. It was a reminder to us that children are a gift and are truely in His hands. Many sleepless nights followed as Allison stayed awake keeping Anjela's fever down. She has a throat infection and bronchitis type symptoms and is recovering slowly. Then Anjela passed the sick-bug onto Allison. Despite all this we were still able to have a happy Christmas. We had a Christmas Eve service with lots of singing and praising God through testimonies of His goodness in people's lives. Then we attended a fun Chrismas Eve swimming party at our friends, Maria and Gils' house. On Christmas Day we opened gifts and celebrated the birth of our Savior, Jesus and His gift of salvation at church as Dennis preached a warm and profound Christmas message. Dennis' sister Faith is here visiting from Germany with her daughter Alicia so we spent the afternoon with her and his little sis Nelly as well as several others from our church body who needed somewhere to spend Christmas. Our house was full of fellowship as we enjoyed a yummy Kenyan holiday meal of Pilau and chicken. (this is a pic of Anjela and her cousin Alicia and the other one is of Dennis with his sisters Faith and Nelly)

Christmas was followed by a relaxing day at home as we celebrated Dennis' 32nd Birthday. Anjela and I praise God for giving us such a wonderful and dedicated husband and Baba! You can ask Dennis what his favorite part of the day was.....(i bet he'll say it involved a little Arsenal soccer action!!)

As you might know the Omondis have endured a bit of a challenging year but we praise God for His grace and strength that has carried us through! We can truely say, "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal." Isaiah 26:3-4

Please keep praying for Anjela's adoption. We are now just waiting for the lawyer to get us a court date when the judges resume the beginning of February. Please pray they will see our case as important without further delays and that we will have favor in the eyes of the judges when we finally reach the courts.

Word of Life Fellowship Church is growing both in number and in their hunger for God. As we see all that God is doing in our fellowship there we also see the Enemy trying his best to bring discouragement and destruction in our midst. Please pray for strength and focus for all of our church family. May God truely be Lord in their lives.

We really enjoyed having the 19 people from Denton,TX come out over Thanksgiving to do a kids camp for the Word of Life Christian Academy in our area. What an INCREDIBLE job they did in leading these kids and creatively teaching them about WHO God is by teaching them the 16 Hebrew names of God. Thank you all who supported and prayed for them. Pray the Truths they have been taught will grow in their hearts and produce eternal fruit!

Dennis completed teaching his church history class at Ujamaa two weeks ago. Pray for these pastors that what they have learned will positively affect and change their lives and preaching the Word of Truth. The renovations and building of the pastor's training center in Ukunda are complete for now and we look forward to officially opening and starting BTCP classes there by April.

So this is some of the current news for now in the life of the Omondis. Please keep praying for our strength. We can humbly say we are tired, and a bit burnt out, but are trusting in the ONE who says, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28

We pray each of you experienced a blessed Christmas and are looking forward to a wonderful 2010. We love you all and appreciate your continued love, support and prayers! We couldn't continue on without your encouragement and prayers.

Dennis, Allison, and Anjela
