Update and Special Prayer

Dear Friends,
Thank you for your faithfulness in giving and praying for us. I want to begin by praising God for your faithfulness specifically in giving towards our ministry. You will be happy to know that our financial support has come in full every month since the beginning of this year and we praise God for providing for you and for your faithfulness in giving it back to Him through our ministry. May the Lord refresh you as you have refreshed us.

Secondly I want to urge you by the mercies of God to continue praying for us especially as we continue to experience the many deceiving tricks of the evil one to discourage us. One specific instance is our house help Ruth. She has been working for me and now us for the last 4 years but earlier this week, out of the blue, she decided that she did not want to work anymore. She did not give any reason, just said she wanted to go back home to be with her mother upcountry. It was a very sad day because Ruth had become such a part of our family and those of you who have come to visit us here know her very well. Our hearts are very sad to lose this dear sister and helper. This leaves Allison with MUCH work to do and keeping house takes much more time and effort here. Besides taking care of me and Anjela, welcoming and hosting our visitors and spending time with women in our church and community she will be taking on the many responsibilities Ruth had around our house. May the Lord give her great strength. Please pray for us that we will find another girl that is as faithful, honest and as hard working as Ruth was.

Thirdly, I would like to share with you our philosophy of ministry as Serve (Denton Bible Missions). Our ministry is primarily about Developing and Discipling National Leaders over a long period of time by helping Cultivate their personal spiritual life, helping Equip them with Biblical and Theological training and skill development, and then Mobilizing them with curriculum and our people to reproduce good ministry.

This weekend Allison and I will start meeting with the Worship team of our church in our home to teach them and disciple them. All of them are young and have never been discipled before; their qualification for being up there singing every Sunday has been purely talent. We see a need to invest in them as they are a key part of our church both now and in the future. Basically the first few sessions we are going to teach about: [a] Having a high view of God [b] Having a low view of Man [c] Having a high view of Scripture. Please pray that the Lord will fill their heart with a desire to learn more about Jesus and fall in love with Him daily.

Finally, next week on Monday the 13th we start our 4th BTCP/L class here in Mombasa with 8 students, 5 Men and 3 women. Elly and I will be Co-teaching the class together 3 times a week. Please pray for God to provide money for the students so they can pay for the books and that He will give us a heart of humility and a sense of unity as we learn and teach together.

And now I pen off and leave you with Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, thro
ugh Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

I'm praying for the right house help for you. I'm praying God would quickly bring someone to your life that would bless you as you bless the people around you.

I'm also praying for wisdom and knowledge as you teach and disciple those who God puts in your path.
